Best Friends Animal Society and Peanuts have teamed up on a limited-edition collection inspired by Snoopy and his siblings Spike, Belle, Olaf, Andy and Marbles. The eight-piece collection launches Friday, Oct. 23, at 12 p.m. ET at shop.bestfriends.org while supplies last.
The collection puts the personalities of the Peanuts characters on apparel and accessories. It is built around a shared message that every dog and cat is a unique individual and every pet deserves a loving home.
Items include a unisex sweatshirt for $75, a women’s crewneck sweatshirt for $73, a pin set for $70 and a tote bag for $60. The collection also features a unisex tee for $45, a women’s muscle tee for $43, a milk glass mug for $40 and a dad hat for $35.
The unisex sweatshirt shows Charlie Brown and Snoopy with the message “Happiness Is a Best Friend,” while the women’s crewneck reads “Adopt Your Next Best Friend.” The pin set includes six character pins, each showing a different sibling, in a custom collector box. Each set is individually numbered from 1 to 500.
The collection is part of a monthslong partnership between the two organizations that includes special events and a public service announcement. “We believe every pet deserves to be loved for exactly who they are,” said Julie Castle, CEO of Best Friends Animal Society. “Partnering with Peanuts gives Best Friends Animal Society an incredible opportunity to introduce the joys of adoption to new audiences.”
Melissa Menta, senior vice president of global brand and communications for Peanuts Worldwide, said Snoopy and his siblings “prove that dogs come in all shapes and sizes with unique and loveable personalities.”
On any given day, an average of 500,000 dogs and cats are waiting in shelters across the United States, according to Best Friends data. Founded in 1984 and based in Kanab, Utah, the organization works with more than 6,000 shelter and rescue partners to make the country no-kill, which it defines as a 90% save rate or greater for pets entering shelters.
