Alexandra King announces debut album ‘Across the Pond’ for June release

Irish-American singer-songwriter Alexandra King has announced her debut full-length album, “Across the Pond,” is scheduled for release on Friday, June 5. The project blends folk, country, and traditional Irish influences, drawing inspiration from King’s life in New York, Nashville, and Ireland.
In conjunction with the announcement, King released the official music video for the lead single, “Bottoms Up.” The video was filmed at the Hook & Ladder Saloon, a pub in King’s hometown, and features her family and friends, including her father and childhood friend Luke Manley, an actor in “Marty Supreme.” The track features traditional instrumentation, including fiddle by Oliver Bates Craven and bodhrán percussion.
“I wanted to write a classic drinking song that feels timeless, like it could’ve been sung decades ago or written last week,” King said. “It’s a love letter to the Irish pub — whether in New York or Ireland itself — the dog in the corner, the turf fire burning, and the cold pint in your hand.”
The forthcoming LP incorporates tracks from King’s 2025 EP of the same name, as well as 2024 singles such as “Chasing Rainbows” and “I’d Be Lying.” King’s musical background includes performing in pubs across New York and Ireland from a young age, as well as time spent studying at the University of Galway.

The album also serves as a reflection of King’s personal resilience. Following a 2020 diving accident that resulted in a cervical spinal cord injury and temporary partial paralysis, King relearned to play the guitar during her recovery. She relocated to Nashville in 2022 to resume her music career, a journey of perseverance that informs the songwriting throughout the new record.
