The television culinary competition The Great Food Truck Race will return for a new season on Sunday, July 26, at 9 pm on Food Network. The episodes will also be available for streaming the following day on HBO Max. This season introduces a specific thematic battle structure, splitting the contestants into four trucks that specialize in savory dishes and four trucks focused on sweet items.

Host Tyler Florence will guide the competing trucks along a geographic route starting in Nashville and traveling through the Great Smoky Mountains. The production stops in several regional cities to test the cooking expertise, marketing strategy, and sales skills of each team through weekly challenges. For the first time in the history of the series, the bottom two teams each week will face each other directly in a taste redemption battle to avoid elimination.

The season includes eight new teams from across the country representing different culinary backgrounds. The competing sweet-focused and savory-focused businesses include Bug and Bear’s Cannoli from Los Angeles, California, Cason Funnel Cakes from Richmond, Virginia, and Deadproof Pizza Co. from Derry, New Hampshire. The roster continues with Grounds Donut House from the Bronx, New York, Hele Rolls from Kapolei, Hawaii, and Jollof Bowl representing Baltimore, Maryland.

The final two slots in the competition are held by Stuph’d Beignets and Burgers from New Orleans, Louisiana, and Waffadilla operating out of Hampshire, Illinois. The multi-week event concludes with a finale broadcast scheduled for Sunday, September 6, at 9 pm. The final episode takes place at Churchill Downs in Louisville, where the winning team receives a 50,000 dollar grand prize.
