DC Studios’ Supergirl will make its global streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max on Thursday, September 10. The film will subsequently premiere on the HBO linear television channel on Saturday, September 12 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.

An alternate version of the feature featuring American Sign Language interpretation will stream on HBO Max the same day as the standard release. The ASL performance is delivered by Catalene Sacchetti and directed by Jonaz McMillan.

Directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay written by Ana Nogueira, the film stars Milly Alcock in the title role alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham. The cast also features appearances by David Corenswet and Jason Momoa.

The narrative establishes the origin story of Kara Zor-El, cousin to Kal-El, as she navigates an interstellar journey following an attack by an unexpected adversary. Joined by an unlikely companion, she fights to save her dog, Krypto, while navigating themes of vengeance and justice.

The production was produced by DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn, with Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars P. Winther serving as executive producers. The character of Supergirl is based on original material created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
