Sting has released a new 12-track live album titled The Night Watch Live at the Rijksmuseum. The record captures a live acoustic performance recorded inside the Gallery of Honor at Amsterdam’s historic Rijksmuseum.
The tracking list includes individual solo hits, classic tracks from his former band the Police, and selections from his Tony Award-nominated musical, The Last Ship. Longtime collaborator and guitarist Dominic Miller accompanied the 17-time Grammy Award winner during the performance.
For portions of the set, the artist performed using a rare 17th-century guitar originally constructed for the court of Louis XIV. The acoustic setlist featured performances of the songs “Mad About You” and “When We Dance” inside the glass-fronted gallery of the museum.
The musical production also includes performances recorded within the museum’s library facility. The full concert footage was captured by the broadcaster ARTE as part of their ongoing Sounds Like Art television series.
The live collection was produced by Martin Kierszenbaum and focuses on themes of storytelling, love, and loss. The album is currently available for purchase on physical CD and vinyl formats, as well as across all digital music streaming platforms.
