Musician and songwriter Sam Smith has announced the upcoming release of their fifth studio album, titled Hazel Eyes. The 12-song record is scheduled to debut on August 21 through Capitol Records. The announcement coincides with the premiere of a new single from the project titled “My Guy,” which is accompanied by an official music video.

The production of the album took place over three years, with Smith serving as a co-producer alongside Simon Aldred and David Odlum. Much of the recording process occurred in New York City, including sessions at the historic Electric Lady Studios. The instrumentation features contributions from indie-pop artist Feist, multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily, and string arranger Rob Moose.

The tracklist for the upcoming album comprises twelve songs, starting with the opening track “Everlasting Love.” The collection incorporates the newly released single alongside previously shared tracks titled “Love Is A Stillness” and “To Be Free.” The final sequencing also includes a collaborative song titled “Moondance” featuring Feist, and “Oh Mother” featuring The TwoCity Chorus.

The record serves as the direct follow-up to the 2023 studio album Gloria, which featured the global single “Unholy” with Kim Petras. To preview the new material, Smith initiated a series of global performance residencies that launched at the Warsaw venue in Brooklyn. The residency series continued to the Castro Theatre in San Francisco and is scheduled to move to the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City this summer.

In addition to the album production, Smith is scheduled to perform a concert on Friday, June 26, at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center in New York City. The artist enters the new promotional cycle with a career history that includes five Grammy Awards and two Guinness World Records. Pre-orders for the physical and digital formats of the new album are currently open to the public.
