Paramount Coffee has announced its expansion into the ready-to-drink beverage market with the upcoming release of Joe Knows Coffee Cold Brew. The new product line features 12-ounce cans and is scheduled to launch in late July through the company’s website and select national retailers.
The launch marks a new product format for the brand, which first debuted as a ground coffee line in 2009. The cold brew is made from 100 percent Arabica beans sourced from global growers and is prepared by steeping coffee in cold water for several hours to achieve a smoother taste with less bitterness than traditional iced coffee.
The canned beverage line will debut with four distinct flavors named Caramel Café, Mocha Mo-Joe, Vanilla Chill, and Tall, Dark and Handsome. Company president Rich Schaafsma stated that the line is intended to pair premium craftsmanship with personality-packed flavors that can be consumed straight from the can or customized with mix-ins.
The product introduction aligns with shifting consumer preferences highlighted in recent industry data from the National Coffee Association. The Fall 2025 National Coffee Data Trends report indicates that 21 percent of American adults consumed cold brew in the trailing week, marking a 50 percent increase since 2020.
The report also notes a strong preference for chilled beverages among younger consumers, with 40 percent of Generation Z selecting cold or iced coffee options compared to 17 percent who prefer frozen varieties. Founded in 1935, Paramount Coffee operates as a 100 percent employee-owned company that distributes its products to restaurants nationwide alongside its online and retail channels.
