Chef Boyardee has announced the launch of a new high-protein canned pasta line aimed at meeting consumer demand for affordable and convenient protein options. The new product line will be available at retailers nationwide starting in August 2026.
Each can in the lineup provides at least 25 grams of protein across five distinct varieties. The options include Chili Mac with 25 grams, Beef Ravioli with 26 grams, Beefaroni with 27 grams, Spaghetti and Meatballs with 25 grams, and Chicken with Rice and Vegetables with 25 grams of protein.
Dan Anglemyer, chief operating officer and chief marketing officer at Hometown Food Company, stated that the release represents a significant advancement for the canned pasta category. He noted that the company plans to support the rollout with a national marketing campaign, retail activations, and influencer partnerships.
The launch builds on previous 2026 product developments for the brand, which included the release of its Skillet Meals line and an appearance at the Daytona 500. The brand updates follow the acquisition of Chef Boyardee from Conagra by Hometown Food Company, a portfolio company of Brynwood Partners.
Henk Hartong III, chairman and chief executive officer of Brynwood Partners, noted that the company has focused on rapid product development in the year since acquiring the brand. He added that the high-protein canned meals have received strong early acceptance from retail buyers.
