GEA Live, RoadCo, and Fifth Season have announced that Love Actually In Concert will visit more than 30 U.S. cities this holiday season. The event features a full live orchestra performing the film’s score and soundtrack in sync with a full projection of the movie.
The nationwide tour kicks off on November 16 in Washington, D.C. before traveling coast-to-coast to major markets. Planned tour stops include Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Chicago.
During each performance, the orchestra plays Craig Armstrong’s original score alongside featured soundtrack songs like Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and “Love Is All Around.” Armstrong is a Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Emmy-winning composer known for his work on “Moulin Rouge!” and “Elizabeth: The Golden Age.”
Written and directed by Richard Curtis, the 2003 film follows ten interweaving stories about love leading up to Christmas in London. The ensemble cast includes Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Bill Nighy, Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, and Keira Knightley.
Presales for the tour opened on July 22, with general public ticket sales beginning July 24 at 10 a.m. local time. Venue websites are providing local schedule details and purchasing options.
According to producer Floris Douwes, the production aims to turn the film into a shared live event for fans and families. The tour marks over two decades since the movie’s original theatrical release.
