Grainger hosted its fifth annual Bucket Build at its corporate headquarters in Lake Forest, Illinois. More than 500 company team members joined partners from ToolBank USA and students from YouthBuild Lake County and YouthBuild Waukegan to assemble more than 4,000 disaster relief kits.

Volunteers packed five-gallon buckets with donated hand tools and cleaning supplies designed to assist families with cleanup, repairs, and initial recovery following natural disasters. ToolBank USA will manage distribution of the completed kits to impacted communities across North America.

Potential distribution sites for the assembled relief buckets include Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Panama City, Tampa, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. In previous disaster response efforts, similar kits were deployed following floods, wildfires, hurricanes, and other severe weather events.

ToolBank USA enters its fourth year as Grainger’s bucket distribution partner, having previously delivered supplies to 97 communities across the continental United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Participating YouthBuild students also engaged with company volunteers to explore career pathways within the supply chain industry and skilled trades.

Grainger operates as a broad line distributor of maintenance, repair, and operating products and services. The company works alongside YouthBuild programs on community volunteer initiatives and career training support in energy infrastructure.
