The Lego Group has officially revealed its first-ever replica set of the original PlayStation console, creating a 1,911-piece model designed for adult builders. Announced during PlayStation’s State of Play broadcast, the set recreates the grey silhouette of the original gaming system alongside its initial controller design.
The finished display model measures over 2.5 inches high, 10.5 inches wide, and 7.5 inches deep, forming a near 1:1 scale replica of the classic video game hardware. Interactive features include tactile, functional Open and Power buttons as well as a brick-built controller that plugs directly into the main unit.
Opening the console top reveals hidden buildable dioramas inspired by two historic video games from the platform. The set includes a mini race track with small cars representing Gran Turismo, which originally debuted in 1997, and a scene from the 1999 game Ape Escape featuring its red or blue monkey helmet.
Builders can choose to keep the game dioramas concealed inside the console housing or pull them out to display alongside the main setup. The set is tailored to capture the experience and physical details associated with original 1990s console gaming.
The Lego PlayStation set is priced at $179.99 and will be available for Lego Insiders members on Oct. 1, 2026. General retail availability begins Oct. 4, 2026, through Lego stores, select retailers, and the official Lego website.
