HBO releases second teaser for Harry Potter television series

HBO has unveiled the official second teaser for its upcoming eight-episode adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The first season of the series is scheduled to debut Christmas 2026 on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

The premiere season follows Harry Potter as he receives a mysterious admission letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, uncovering a hidden world of magic while confronting dark secrets behind the school walls. Francesca Gardiner serves as writer and executive producer, with Mark Mylod executive producing and directing multiple episodes.

The main trio features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Key Hogwarts faculty roles include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.

Additional series cast members include Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, and Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley. Supporting roles feature Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, and Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley.

The production is developed in association with Brontë Film and TV alongside Warner Bros. Television. J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman serve as executive producers for the television project.
