Greensky Bluegrass will ring in 2027 with two hometown performances at Kalamazoo’s Wings Event Center on January 1 and 2. The newly announced Michigan dates follow the band’s previously scheduled New Year’s Eve shows at Chicago’s Salt Shed on December 30 and 31.
Tickets for the Kalamazoo concerts are now on sale to the general public. The band announced the dates as part of their current fall headlining tour across North America, which includes stops in Orlando, Roanoke, and Birmingham.
The announcement follows recent festival appearances, including the Ionia Freak Fair, where members of Greensky Bluegrass and Billy Strings swapped guest sit-ins during each other’s respective sets.
The five-piece progressive bluegrass group consists of Anders Beck on dobro, Michael Arlen Bont on banjo, Dave Bruzza on guitar, Mike Devol on upright bass, and Paul Hoffman on mandolin. Founded over two decades ago, the band continues to maintain an extensive national touring schedule.
The band’s latest album, XXV, was released last October to mark the group’s 25th anniversary. The recording features collaborations with artists including Billy Strings, Sam Bush, Nathaniel Rateliff, Aoife O’Donovan, Lindsay Lou, and Holly Bowling.
Earlier this year, the band released the documentary film Find Ourselves Lost, The Iceland Sessions, directed by René Huemer. The feature-length project captures the group recording material at Flóki Studios in rural North Iceland while documenting their creative process and personal history.
