Sagamore Whiskey has announced the nationwide release of its Sagamore Bottled in Bond Straight Rye Whiskey. Available beginning September 1, the new expression is distilled, aged, and bottled entirely at the company’s facility in Baltimore, Maryland.
The spirit was originally distilled during the spring of 2018 and aged for eight years before bottling. The product complies with the federal Bottled in Bond Act of 1897, which mandates that a spirit be produced by a single distiller within one season, aged a minimum of four years, and bottled at 100 proof.
The formulation combines a high-rye mash bill and a low-rye mash bill through a proprietary blending process. The resulting liquid features an amber color alongside a flavor profile with notes of peaches, brown sugar, sweet cherry, rye bread, baked apple crumble, and maple syrup.
Maryland-style rye tradition emphasizes balancing characteristic rye spice with softer, sweeter fruit notes. Sagamore Whiskey utilizes dual mash bills and a triple distillation process to achieve this regional style.
The national release carries a suggested retail price of $59.99 per bottle. Consumers can purchase the expression at select premium retailers across the country, as well as on site at the Sagamore Whiskey distillery in Baltimore.
