Schmitts Fear Farm in Melville is preparing to open its doors for its 33rd annual Halloween event. The seasonal haunted attraction runs on select dates from September 26 through October 31.
The attraction features The Haunt, a 10,000-square-foot indoor space built with movie-quality sets, dark passages, and themed creature rooms. The entire structure is completely rebuilt from the ground up each year to introduce new scenes and layouts.
General admission includes access to both the main indoor attraction and Long Island’s only haunted corn trail, an outdoor acre-sized maze that has also been redesigned for the season. Visitors have the option to add a 3D experience to the corn trail for an additional fee.
Single tickets are priced at $47 per person for all dates, including special clown-themed takeover nights scheduled for October 22 and October 29. Groups of 10 or more checking out together receive a discounted rate of $40 per person, and free parking is included with all ticket purchases.
Organizers advise guests to wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for outdoor autumn weather. Due to intense visual effects and frightening elements, the event may not be suitable for children under the age of 12.
Visitors with questions regarding accessibility, strobe lights, or mobility accommodations should contact venue staff prior to purchasing tickets. Management notes that guests displaying cold, flu, or virus symptoms should refrain from attending, and strict safety policies prohibit touching actors or staff.
