Brewer’s Alley, the original brewpub in Frederick County, Maryland, is marking its 30th anniversary this month. The establishment first opened its doors in 1996 at 124 N. Market Street in historic downtown Frederick.
The brewpub operates inside a historic building that dates back to 1765. Over the centuries, the site has served as Frederick’s city hall, a town market, a city jail, and an opera house before becoming a restaurant and brewery.
To commemorate three decades in business, Brewer’s Alley has released a limited-edition 30th Anniversary American Pale Ale. The milestone also includes recent updates to the business, such as a reimagined culinary menu, a modernized bar area, and updated experiences across all three levels of the restaurant.
The business will host an official 30th Anniversary Gathering on Wednesday, July 29th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event will feature a complimentary buffet, giveaways, commemorative items, and the new anniversary ale on tap for community members and long-time patrons.
Owner Greg Brown and founder Phil Bowers noted that the anniversary reflects thirty years of community support in Frederick. Brewer’s Alley remains the oldest and largest brewpub in the city, operating as part of Monocacy Hospitality.
