ASW Distillery and John Deere have established a permanent whiskey partnership named Soil to Still. The collaboration has resulted in the release of two permanent expressions called Fiddler Combine Bourbon and Fiddler Steel Plow Rye. The spirits launched on June 24, 2026, at the distillery’s Atlanta tasting rooms and across thirteen states.

The partnership connects two entities with roots tied to historical developments from 1964. During that year, an Act of Congress officially recognized bourbon as a distinctive product of the United States, while John Deere opened its world headquarters in Moline, Illinois. The whiskey collaboration was developed over two years as ASW Distillery worked with the John Deere team to align their production methods with agricultural traditions.

Both whiskey expressions are aged for eight years and bottled at 112 proof. Master Distiller Justin Manglitz finishes the spirits using oak staves that are seasoned outdoors for at least two years and hand-charred before being inserted into each barrel for the final two months of aging. Each bottle is priced at 79.99 dollars.

Fiddler Steel Plow Rye serves as a tribute to the original steel plow invented by John Deere in 1837. The spirit is described as a robust rye featuring tasting notes of dark chocolate, raisin, and clove.

Fiddler Combine Bourbon references the 1947 debut of the self-propelled combine harvester. This wheated bourbon features a 45 percent wheat content, which is more than double the amount found in most premium wheated bourbons on the market. Its flavor profile includes heavy caramel on the nose along with notes of dates, nougat, and almond.

Initial retail distribution for the collection focuses on both Southern and Midwestern markets. The expressions are currently available in Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, New York, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, with national and Canadian distribution planned to follow throughout 2026.
