Tickets are now on sale for the 2026-2027 live horse racing seasons at Sam Houston Race Park in northwest Houston.
The upcoming schedule features Thoroughbred racing from Dec. 18, 2026, through Apr. 3, 2027. Following a short break, the Quarter Horse season will run from Apr. 15 to Jun. 12, 2027.
Regular evening races are scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights with a post time of 6:30 p.m. Track organizers note that select special post times will occur throughout the season.
The venue offers several seating options for attendees, including free indoor and outdoor general seating. Guests can also purchase reserved box seating on the second-floor clubhouse level, reserve tables at the Winner’s Circle Restaurant, or rent private suites for groups of 10 to 100 people.
The 2026-2027 calendar includes a series of promotional theme days, giveaways, and special events across both racing seasons. Highlights of the Thoroughbred schedule include Holiday at the Races on Dec. 18-19, the Houston Racing Festival on Jan. 24, camel and ostrich racing on March 5-6, and Texas Champions Day on March 20.
The Quarter Horse season will feature events such as Corgi dog racing on April 24, Kentucky Derby Day festivities on May 1, and the season-ending lawn mower races on June 12. Tickets and complete schedule updates are available on the track website.
