The Rolling Stones celebrated the release of their brand new album, Foreign Tongues, with an exclusive party in London. The event was held overlooking the River Thames on the terrace of St. Clement, London’s newest luxury hotel. Band members Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood hosted a gathering of friends, guests, and celebrity attendees.
The guest list for the event included several high-profile public figures from entertainment and sports. Attendees included Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, Sam Fender, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Simone Ashley. Christian Louboutin, John McEnroe, Glen Matlock, and Vernon Kay were also present for the celebration.
The event featured a large-scale drone light show staged directly over the River Thames. The display illuminated the London skyline above the London Eye and Big Ben with the band’s classic tongue logo and the new album artwork. The synchronized visual presentation was directly linked to the audio tracking of their latest song release, titled In The Stars.
Internationally acclaimed designer Patrick Woodroffe created the 500-drone light show configuration. Woodroffe noted that setting the performance to the new track served as a fitting metaphor for seeing the iconic logo hanging over the river to celebrate a record produced in the city. The production illuminated major historic landmarks as part of the promotional event.
The Rolling Stones recorded the entire album inside Metropolis Studios, which is located in their hometown of London. The band stated that the studio sessions took less than a month to put together and described the recording process as a fun experience. Online portals have been established for listeners to order the physical album and view official media assets from the launch party.
