Thalia Surf Shop has opened bookings for its summer lineup of surf lessons and surfboard rentals in Laguna Beach. The shop is located one block away from Thalia Street Beach, a sandy-bottom break widely considered the best location to learn surfing in the area.
The business has been operating and providing instruction at this location since 2001. Lessons are conducted by instructors who are local surfers from the area, and sessions are designed for all ages and skill levels.
Every scheduled lesson covers ocean safety, surf etiquette, paddling, and the pop-up technique. The instruction fee includes a soft-top surfboard, a leash, and a wetsuit, with lessons lasting approximately two hours.
Private single lessons are available for $125 per person, while group lessons for two or more people are priced at $110 per person. In addition to Thalia Street Beach, lessons are offered year-round at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point and San Onofre State Beach in San Clemente.
For independent surfers, the shop provides daily rentals of its own branded soft-top boards and longboards from its South Coast Highway storefront. Staff members match riders to specific equipment based on daily conditions, and reservations can be made online or by phone.
