Shinedown secures 25th number one single with “Safe and Sound”

Rock band Shinedown has reached the top of the Mediabase Active Rock chart with their latest single, “Safe and Sound.” This milestone marks the band’s 25th number one song at the format, extending their existing record for the most number ones in the history of the Mediabase Active Rock chart.
The chart achievement precedes the release of their upcoming studio album, EI8HT, which arrives on May 29 through Atlantic Records. The record was produced by bassist Eric Bass at Big Animal Studio in Charleston, South Carolina. It features previous number one rock singles “Dance, Kid, Dance,” “Killing Fields,” and “Searchlight,” alongside the crossover track “Three Six Five.”
The track success follows a series of public appearances by the band, including a performance on the grand finale of American Idol with finalist Philmon Lee and a headlining set at the Sonic Temple Festival. Band members Brent Smith and Zach Myers also participated in several media appearances, including interviews on the Allison Hagendorf show, American Songwriter’s Song Diving Podcast, and The Downbeat Podcast.
Shinedown recently commenced their Dance Kid Dance Act II World Tour. The concert series spans 11 countries and includes more than 50 scheduled dates across North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
The band will donate 1 dollar from every ticket sold during this tour to City of Hope, a cancer research and treatment organization based in the United States. This follows a previous partnership with Musicians On Call, which raised more than 300,000 dollars to bring music to healthcare environments.
Shinedown consists of vocalist Brent Smith, guitarist Zach Myers, bassist and producer Eric Bass, and drummer Barry Kerch. The band currently holds the top spot on Billboard’s Greatest Of All Time Mainstream Rock Artists Chart with 22 number one songs on that specific chart.
