Shinedown opens world tour in Green Bay, debuts music from new album

Multi-platinum rock band Shinedown launched the “Dance Kid Dance Act II World Tour” Wednesday night with a performance at the Resch Center.
The opening night of the 60-date global run featured the debut of new music from the band’s forthcoming eighth studio album, “EI8HT,” which is scheduled for release May 29 through Atlantic Records. The setlist included new tracks “Three Six Five,” “Safe and Sound” and “Searchlight,” alongside established hits “Second Chance” and “A Symptom of Being Human.”
The tour kickoff follows the band’s recent appearance on the season finale of ABC’s “American Idol,” where they performed a medley with finalist Philmon Lee. The group also recently received the Best Rock Artist award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards for the second consecutive year.
Shinedown, consisting of Brent Smith, Zach Myers, Eric Bass and Barry Kerch, currently holds the record for the most No. 1 singles in the history of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart.
The current tour is scheduled to span 12 countries across North America, the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. The band’s new single, “Outlaw,” was released last month as the latest preview of the upcoming album.
