Premier Protein has introduced a new clear beverage line called Sparkling Protein Soda. The product combines light carbonation with 15 grams of whey protein isolate per can.
The new drink is formulated with five ingredients, containing 90 calories and three grams of sugar per serving. Sweetened with cane sugar and stevia extract, the beverage includes no artificial colors.
The lineup features four fruit flavors, including Lemon Lime, Grapefruit, Black Cherry, and Pineapple Orange. The Pineapple Orange flavor will be available as an exclusive release at Walmart.
The product development aims to provide an alternative to traditional creamy protein shakes. Industry data indicates that 53 percent of soda drinkers rely on carbonated beverages for an afternoon drink, prompting the creation of a lighter option.
