Pluto TV is launching a pop-up digital programming category titled Americana 2026 to mark the 250th birthday of the United States. The limited-time curation features 250 hand-selected motion pictures alongside various television series available on demand and through dedicated streaming channels. The content initiative officially debuts on the platform on June 29, 2026.
The theatrical lineup includes films focused on regional history, music, sports, and community themes spanning several decades. Featured titles include Top Gun: Maverick, Steel Magnolias, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, and Bull Durham. The movie collection highlights works from prominent directors such as Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Spike Lee, Sofia Coppola, and Ava DuVernay.
The digital event also features multi-season television marathons on specific linear channels. The More TV Drama channel will host a consecutive run of the series Yellowstone starting June 30, 2026, culminating in the platform’s first free streaming availability of Yellowstone Season 5 on July 5. Other localized television options include Hart of Dixie, Nashville, and Everwood.
The platform will organize the historical and cinematic selections into themed categories including American History, On the Front Lines, America’s Cities on Screen, and The American West. Specialized lifestyle programming will also feature content from the Smithsonian Channel, America’s Test Kitchen, Tastemade Smokehouse, and Monster Jam. Special event broadcasts will include live holiday fireworks coverage and regional celebration simulcasts.
The overall collection spans classic and contemporary releases, from the 1957 production of 12 Angry Men to the 2024 film Civil War. The featured titles will occupy a dedicated linear guide placement between the standard movie and comedy categories through July 13, 2026. Users can access the material via direct on-demand selection or traditional scheduled broadcasts utilizing standard interface features.
