Kroger Co. has introduced a selection of customizable food flights alongside seasonal discounts to help customers organize backyard gatherings for Independence Day. The retailer is focusing on trending culinary experiences that allow hosts to create tasting spreads with accessible ingredients.
These experiences focus on distinct themes like hot dogs, s’mores, tomatoes, and mocktails. The flight concept is intended to offer affordable ways to bring new flavor combinations to the summer holiday table.
The hot dog options include variations like an All-American classic style, a barbecue backyard flight, a chili cheese spread, and a gourmet street dog option. For dessert, the s’mores layouts feature combinations ranging from classic graham crackers and marshmallows to chocolate lover, sweet and salty, and berry bliss assortments.
Fresh summer produce is highlighted through tomato flights that feature garden-fresh heirloom varieties, a caprese pairing, grilled options, and savory snack combinations. Refreshing beverage options are also highlighted through themed mocktail flights, including a patriotic spritzer, a firecracker dirty soda, a cucumber lime mix, and a modified Shirley Temple.
Alongside the food trends, the retailer is offering promotional pricing on summer staples starting July 1. These promotions include buy two, get three free deals on selected 12-pack soda cans, buy one, get one free deals on pork back ribs, and specific discounts on sides, pasta, and dinner sausage.
Customers can also utilize an updated rewards program to redeem accumulated points for direct discounts on groceries both in-store and online, in addition to standard fuel savings. Shoppers can build points during designated Friday windows and over the holiday period.
