Ramones Productions, Inc. and Hollywood Forever announced the upcoming schedule for the official Ramones 50th anniversary tribute. The commemorative event is set for the evening of August 30, 2026, at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. The gathering marks the first milestone celebration honoring 50 years since the 1976 release of the band’s self-titled debut album.
Screen icon John Travolta will host the evening, which features the inaugural live performance from Cretin Family. The newly formed supergroup includes musicians Tim Armstrong of Rancid, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Travis Barker of Blink-182, and former Ramones bassist CJ Ramone, alongside unannounced surprise guests playing a set of Ramones songs.
The event schedule also includes a double-feature film screening. Attendees will view the 50th anniversary deluxe edition of Carrie alongside the public screening of Travolta’s directorial debut film, Propeller One-Way Night Coach. Artist Shepard Fairey will also participate in the event by presenting a guest DJ set.
Proceeds from the tribute gathering will support the David Agus MD Cancer Research initiative at the Ellison Institute. Tickets for the anniversary event have officially been made available for public purchase online ahead of the August date.
The tribute comes as Rhino prepares several physical music releases as part of its Spirit of ’76 campaign. A limited-edition picture disc pressing of the debut album is scheduled for release on July 17, followed by a two-LP colored vinyl edition of the band’s Live at The Roxy 1976 performance on July 31.
