Tickets are now on sale for the Napa Valley Wine Train’s annual Santa Train season, which runs from November 27 through December 23, 2026. The seasonal event takes place aboard restored antique Pullman rail cars decorated for the holidays.
For the first time, the program is offering daytime afternoon rides called Afternoons All Aglow, which will run on December 21, 22, and 23. These daytime journeys feature visits with Santa and views of the valley during the day.
The evening schedule runs from 5:40 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. on select dates and features four distinct options. These include Santa’s Cookie Car, the Gourmet Holiday Express, Jingle on the Rails, and the Very Merry Vista Dome experience.
The evening options provide different dining arrangements, with menus ranging from festive cookies to three- or four-course meals. The Jingle on the Rails experience features a peppermint-themed lounge car, while the Very Merry Vista Dome takes place in an observation-style dining car.
Visits from Santa Claus vary by car, with some packages offering tableside visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus alongside printed and digital photos. Additionally, passengers on Santa’s Cookie Car will pass by a North Pole display created by the Yountville Fire Station.
Prior to boarding at the depot, guests can buy holiday gifts at the shop, drink hot cider, and mail postcards to Santa. The program is partnering with Expressions of Hope to collect donations for foster youth, with additional support directed to the Boys and Girls Club Napa and Napa Firewise.
