Metro Diner is celebrating the 8th anniversary of National Fried Chicken and Waffle Day on August 8 with a nationwide contest. The restaurant chain, which created the annual food holiday, will award 88 winners free fried chicken and waffles for a year.
The contest includes giveaways at all 69 Metro Diner locations, as well as drawings held across the brand’s social media channels and through influencer partnerships.
To enter the local diner drawings, guests can visit any location in person on August 8 and order the signature fried chicken and waffle dish. Winners will be selected and announced the following week.
The featured menu item consists of half a fried chicken served alongside a Belgian waffle. The dish is topped with powdered sugar and strawberry butter, and served with a sweet-and-spicy sauce.
Metro Diner established National Fried Chicken and Waffle Day in 2018 to highlight its signature item. Founded in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1992, the company currently operates more than 60 diners across the country.
