Icy Hot has introduced a new product collection called Icy Hot Revive and Recovery No-Mess Pain Relief Roll-On. The new line combines targeted physical pain relief with three fresh fragrances designed for daytime use. The formula contains 8% menthol and utilizes the brand’s signature cooling and warming sensations delivered through a rollerball applicator.
To assist shoppers in selecting a fragrance, the brand is introducing scratch-and-sniff packaging directly on the store shelves. Each product box features a sticker that allows consumers to preview the aroma before making a purchase. This packaging is a first for the topical pain relief retail category.
The three fragrances were developed to work alongside the natural scent of menthol rather than masking it. According to the company, these specific scent profiles are linked to the areas of the brain associated with wakefulness and alertness. The options include Energizing Citrus, Refreshing Lime and Mint, and Revitalizing Tropical Rush.
Each fragrance option features a distinct combination of botanical and woody notes. Energizing Citrus blends zesty lime, mandarin, tangerine, and eucalyptus with white peach and amber woods. Refreshing Lime and Mint combines mint, lime, and eucalyptus with floral notes, cedarwood, and sandalwood, while Revitalizing Tropical Rush features pineapple, lemon, mandarin, sweet orange, eucalyptus, and blonde woods.
According to Rob Carter, Head of Brand and Innovation for Topical Pain at Opella, the product line was created because consumers are looking for sensorial experiences in their recovery routines. Amber Almezy, Senior Brand Manager for Icy Hot, stated that pairing physical pain relief with fresh aromas is intended to help people reset and return to their daily activities. The new roll-on products are available at select national retailers for a suggested retail price of $7.99.
