Two major lodging properties at Grand Canyon National Park are opening their doors to travelers this summer with dedicated seasonal offers. Yavapai Lodge and The Squire at Grand Canyon, a Holiday Inn Resort, are focusing on accommodations that suit multigenerational family travelers.
The properties are situated at the South Rim, which sits at approximately 7,000 feet of elevation. The location features multiple viewpoints, hiking trails of varying difficulty levels, and access to ranger-led educational programs highlighting local geology and ecology.
The high elevation also provides natural cooling for visitors during the summer months. The South Rim runs 15 to 20 degrees cooler than the inner canyon and many surrounding desert communities, though temperatures rise significantly if visitors choose to descend into the canyon.
Yavapai Lodge is located directly inside the park, giving families walking access to the Grand Canyon Village, the park shuttle system, and South Rim trails. On-site amenities at the property include a dining hall, a café, and a tavern.
Grand Canyon National Park is a designated International Dark Sky Park, which allows for stargazing opportunities after dark. Evening ranger programs and views of the night sky provide additional outdoor activities for visiting groups outside traditional daytime park hours.
