Reba McEntire is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her hit sitcom Reba with her seventh music capsule, I’m A Survivor – EP, out now via MCA. The sitcom premiered 25 years ago this month. It marked McEntire’s first foray into series television, as the sharp-witted single mother Reba Hart.
The EP marks the first time all versions of the iconic theme song have been made available. It also includes the version made for the show, which is being released for the first time. The song was written by Phillip White and Shelby Kennedy and originally appeared on her 2001 album Greatest Hits, Volume III: I’m A Survivor.
The EP features four versions of the song: “I’m A Survivor (Official Show Theme Song),” “I’m A Survivor,” “I’m A Survivor (Acoustic Version)” and “I’m A Survivor (Lafemmebear Remix).” Tony Brown and McEntire produced the original track, and the show theme version was also produced by Joris Wolff. Dave Cobb and McEntire produced the acoustic version, and LeahAnn “Lafemmebear” Mitchell produced the remix.
McEntire is also offering the EP on 7-inch vinyl. It is available for preorder now and ships Dec. 11. Reba is streaming on Hulu and through Hulu on Disney+.
The EP is part of McEntire’s celebration of 50 years of music. She has released one music capsule a month since April, with each EP pairing a new release with songs spanning her career. The previous capsules were One Night In Tulsa, Hurt Like That, Ain’t Gonna Keep It Waitin’, Ring Ring, Tourist and Could Have Been Raining.
McEntire is a Country Music Hall of Fame member and a 2018 Kennedy Center Honors recipient. She has 35 career No. 1 singles and has sold more than 58 million albums worldwide. Her song “Rumor Has It” was inducted into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry with the class of 2026. She has also starred on Broadway in Annie Get Your Gun, in the sitcom Happy’s Place and as a coach on The Voice.
