Holiday Hill Farm has launched a new campaign titled 25 Ways to Celebrate Spookley to mark the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin. Originally created by author Joe Troiano as a non-scary bedtime story for his son, the property has expanded into a children’s franchise spanning books, movies, stage productions, and educational programming.
The anniversary initiative features a series of events and activities scheduled throughout the fall season, including a virtual birthday celebration on October 21. The virtual event will feature a live book reading led by Troiano alongside a birthday sing-along.
Additional campaign activities include a new 4D attraction film titled Spookley’s Pumpkin Jamboree playing at select zoos and aquariums, as well as themed attractions at pumpkin patches across North America. Costumes from Spirit Halloween and digital content via Spookley’s 13 Days of Halloween on YouTube are also part of the milestone release.
Spookley continues to serve as the official spokes-pumpkin for PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. As part of the annual partnership during National Bullying Prevention Month in October, the campaign offers free downloadable classroom resources, crafts, and a bullying prevention pledge.
The franchise management team noted that the 25th anniversary celebration is designed to highlight the message of tolerance and acceptance central to the original book. Educational materials and activity guides for families and educators have been made available for the fall season.
