Author Honey Parker is celebrating the release of her newest novel, V-Life: The Outing, with the third annual Vampire Happy Hour on Thursday, October 29, 2026, starting at 5:00 p.m. Held at 100 Men Hall on Union Street in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, the free public event encourages attendees to wear costumes.
The evening features a book signing, signature cocktails, garlic-heavy anti-vampire pizza, and a costume contest where the grand prize winner is written into Parker’s next book as a character. The novel itself follows Sugar Bernstein, a Jewish New York advertising creative director turned vampire living in exile on Spain’s Costa del Sol before real life pulls her back home.
Donations collected at the door will benefit the 100 Women DBA scholarship fund, which supports local young women of color. The gathering also offers books for sale alongside a cash bar and complimentary pizza available while supplies last.
The host venue, 100 Men Hall, is a Mississippi Blues Trail landmark built in 1922 that served as a stop on the historic Chitlin’ Circuit. Legendary performers including Ray Charles, James Brown, B.B. King, and Etta James previously appeared on its stage during the Jim Crow era.
Parker resides in Bay Saint Louis and wrote the novel as the third installment in her V-Life series. Her previous work includes the first book in the series, V-Life: So It Begins, which won a Readers’ Favorite Award for YA horror and is currently in television development.
