Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Noah Kahan released his fourth studio album, “The Great Divide,” on Friday via Mercury Records. The 17-track project follows the massive success of his 2022 breakthrough “Stick Season” and finds the Vermont native exploring themes of success, identity, and New England life.

Produced by Aaron Dessner and Gabe Simon, the album was recorded across several locations, including Fire Tower Farm outside of Nashville and the famed Long Pond Studio in New York. The record features the singles “Porch Light” and the title track. Early critical reception has been positive, with Rolling Stone awarding the album 4.5 out of 5 stars, noting Kahan has turned “small-town ambivalence and early-adulthood apprehensions into massive success.”

“It is hard to even begin to describe what these last few years making this album has felt like,” Kahan said in a statement. “The collision of fear and pressure and joy and luck and total love has left me wordless. I spent many months walking forward in complete darkness, hands out in front of me, desperate to touch something familiar.”

The album’s arrival follows a significant week for the artist, which included a performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk and an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Kahan was also recently named to the TIME100 list of the most influential people of 2026. The release further coincides with the debut of his Netflix documentary, “Noah Kahan: Out of Body,” which received the Audience Award at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival.

To support the release, Kahan is set to return to “Saturday Night Live” as the musical guest on May 9. He will then embark on “The Great Divide World Tour,” which has already sold more than 1.5 million tickets. The tour includes a record-breaking four-night sold-out run at Boston’s Fenway Park in July, making Kahan the first artist to sell out four shows at the historic venue.

The tour’s North American leg is fully sold out, and Kahan has added additional arena dates in London, Dublin, Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland to meet global demand. Following the stadium run this summer, the tour will move to Australia and New Zealand in September before concluding with a series of shows across the United Kingdom and Europe through December.
