Gibson names Manchester indie rockers Corella as April Artist Spotlight musicians

Gibson has named the Manchester-based indie rock band Corella as its Artist Spotlight musician for April 2026, part of the instrument brand’s global initiative to elevate emerging talent.
The four-piece ensemble—composed of vocalist Joel Smith, bassist Ben Henderson, guitarist Jack Taylor, and drummer James Fawcett—joins a 2026 roster that includes international acts from the United States, Japan, Colombia, and France.
Corella rose to prominence in the United Kingdom through high-energy livestreams and support from BBC Radio 1. The band has since established itself as a staple of the British festival circuit, appearing at Reading & Leeds, Latitude, and Neighborhood Festival.
“Being part of the Gibson family is surreal for us,” bassist Ben Henderson said in a statement. “Gibson’s guitars and engineering are a huge part of our sound and our identity, and we’re genuinely proud to represent that.”

The band is currently preparing for the release of its sophomore studio album via FLG later this year. Produced by Grammy Award winner Jason Perry, the record is described by the band as a more “dynamic and emotionally charged” follow-up to their debut, drawing influences from bands such as Bloc Party and Foals.
The announcement follows the band’s recent UK tour supporting the Kaiser Chiefs. Corella is expected to announce further headline tour dates in the coming weeks to support their new single, “Rewire.”
The Gibson Artist Spotlight program promotes selected musicians across the brand’s social media, digital channels, and the Gibson Garage in-store events. Other 2026 featured artists include Charlotte Sands, Night Traveler, and Nieve Ella.
“The Gibson Artist Spotlight celebrates, promotes, and supports a handpicked group of talented artists who demonstrate exceptional innovation,” the company said.
Corella’s music is currently featured on Gibson’s monthly Spotify playlist, and more information about the group’s upcoming release schedule can be found on Gibson’s official website.
