Kate Farms has announced an expanded national retail footprint for its High Protein Nutrition Shake, increasing distribution in Walmart and launching in CVS. The expansion expands availability beyond traditional medical nutrition settings to reach broader retail markets.
The company has grown its retail distribution for the shake line more than sevenfold since initially entering Walmart stores in late 2025. Total availability is projected to surpass 6,800 Walmart and CVS locations across the country by August.
Alongside the retail growth, the brand introduced a new Vanilla flavor to join its existing Chocolate and Strawberry lineup. The development process for the Vanilla flavor involved more than 800 flavor iterations and 611 taste tests to ensure a balanced profile without a chalky aftertaste.
The retail expansion coincides with rising consumer demand for protein and plant-based nutrition products, as well as shifting dietary habits related to GLP-1 medication usage. Kate Farms products are currently used in more than 1,500 hospitals and medical settings nationwide.
Tom Beecher, president of Kate Farms, stated that the expansion allows the company to bring clinically developed nutrition to more consumers in everyday settings. He noted that the move reflects a goal of making high-quality nutrition more accessible.
Kate Farms was originally created by Richard and Michelle Laver to develop organic, plant-based formulas for their daughter, Kate Laver, who could not tolerate standard tube-feeding products. The brand’s shakes are made without artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, artificial flavors, or the top nine allergens.
