Multi-platinum singer-songwriter and visual artist Jewel has released her new single, “Upon Meeting the Goddess of Love,” marking the start of a new chapter in her musical career. The track serves as a preview for a forthcoming acoustic collection scheduled for release later this year, featuring stripped-down arrangements reminiscent of her diamond-certified debut album, Pieces of You.

The release coincides with Jewel’s ongoing daily social media series, where she has been performing raw, acoustic versions of her early material. “There’s something powerful about simplicity. This song strips everything back to the raw emotion and storytelling that first made me fall in love with music,” Jewel said. “This song is part of that larger journey, an invitation to slow down and listen inward.”

The single was first introduced as part of her immersive museum installation, The Portal: An Art Experience by Jewel, at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The song’s artwork features a painting by Jewel that will be included in her upcoming large-scale exhibition, Matriclysm: An Archeology of Connections Lost, opening May 6 in Venice. The exhibition will include Heart of the Ocean, a kinetic sculpture developed in collaboration with scientists from NASA and Stanford University that translates oceanographic data into sound and light.

A four-time Grammy nominee, Jewel has sold over 30 million albums worldwide across genres including folk, pop, and country. While widely recognized for her music, she was trained in sculpture, drawing, and painting at the Interlochen Arts Academy. Her current work continues to integrate these disciplines, combining visual art with original sound design to explore themes of mental health and the human connection to nature.
