Rapper and actress Megan Thee Stallion will make her Broadway debut in a historic casting as “Zidler,” the nightclub impresario, in the Tony Award-winning hit Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
The limited eight-week engagement runs March 24 through May 17, 2026, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Megan becomes the first female-identifying performer to take on the role in any production of the show worldwide.
“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor,” Megan said. “Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me.”
Producers called the casting a landmark moment for the show. “Megan is a global superstar whose impact on music and culture is undeniable,” said producer Carmen Pavlovic. “Her presence is the perfect way to celebrate our run and give Broadway audiences a spectacular experience. Fans can expect a hint of her own music woven into the performance.”
Megan will succeed Bob the Drag Queen, whose limited engagement as Zidler concludes March 22. The Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical is scheduled to close July 26, 2026, after a celebrated run.
From Houston, Megan has achieved three No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits, including Savage (Remix) and WAP, and has won three GRAMMY Awards. She has appeared in theater and television, hosted major awards shows, launched her own tequila and swimwear brands, and founded the Pete and Thomas Foundation, which supports underserved communities.
Tickets for her limited engagement are available online at www.MoulinRougeMusical.com and at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre box office.
