The Weekapaug Inn has launched its seasonal event schedule for the summer season, featuring a combination of educational lectures, outdoor dining events, and youth programs. The property is situated on the Quonochontaug Pond with views extending out toward the Atlantic Ocean. The location utilizes a revolving calendar of activities to highlight the regional history, coastal environment, and local culinary traditions of the New England area.

The scheduled programming includes the return of the Summer Speaker Series, which presents complimentary discussions led by authors, historians, and conservationists. Additionally, the venue is introducing the Coastal Grille Series, a weekly Sunday evening buffet on the main lawn throughout July and August. This outdoor dining event features live music alongside a menu of rotating barbecue items, smoked meats, grilled seafood, and regional desserts.

For evening entertainment, the resort has organized an outdoor film series titled Movies on the Pond. The waterfront screenings will take place on the lawn on select nights, featuring family-oriented titles such as The Sandlot, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and a synchronized Grease sing-a-long. Attendees at these night events will have access to traditional movie refreshments, including popcorn, cotton candy, and assorted sweets.

Youth and family educational activities are anchored by Camp Weekapaug, a complimentary daytime program running Monday through Friday until August 28. Based out of the property’s boat house, the interactive camp teaches outdoor skills such as fire safety, basket making, navigation, and knot-tying. Concurrently, the resident naturalist will lead daily excursions focused on birdwatching, stargazing, shoreline ecology, and salt pond exploration.

The historic inn, originally established in 1899, contains 33 guest accommodations, including four specialized signature suites. The lodging spaces incorporate a mix of historic furnishings and updated technology, including specialized record players and nature-themed LPs provided through a partnership with The Birdsong Project. According to general manager Daniel Abrashoff, the seasonal culinary and outdoor offerings are structured around utilizing local growers, farmers, and fishmongers to supply the central restaurant and bar.
