The LuminoCity Dino Safari Festival will return to New Jersey this summer for an outdoor pop-up engagement at the Freehold Raceway Mall. The seasonal light-art exhibition is scheduled to open on July 1 and will run through August 16, 2026. Located at the intersection of Raceway Mall Drive and Winners Circle, the temporary event grounds will feature more than 70 moving and roaring dinosaur installations.
The upcoming 2026 iteration introduces several new interactive installations and layout modifications to the grounds. Visitors will have access to an expanded bounce zone equipped with a 25-foot volcano bounce structure alongside an updated children’s playground area. The event also debuts a musical section called Neon Octo-Beats, which incorporates a glowing disc jockey booth.
The festival programming will incorporate live educational demonstrations focused on traditional Zigong lantern artistry. Master lantern artisan Huang Xingxiu will lead on-site workshops to show the public how the illuminated light sculptures are constructed. Corporate founder and chief executive officer Xiaoyi Chen stated that the refreshed layout was designed to provide regional families with an interactive local summer attraction.
The event site features more than 10 illuminated pathways alongside returning interactive attractions such as the Dino Speedway and the Safari Dig. The operational calendar includes designated themed event evenings, including a specialized event titled 4th of July with Dinosaurs. Commemorative toys, themed items, and retail souvenirs will be sold on the property at Lumi’s Gift Shop.
The outdoor festival grounds are ADA-compliant and provide complimentary public vehicle parking. The weekly schedule runs from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, and 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
