Panera Bread has launched a refreshed nationwide summer menu as part of its ongoing business transformation strategy. The updated rollout features more than a dozen new and modified ingredients, alternative protein selections, and an expanded cold beverage category. The launch also marks the introduction of an entirely new menu classification designated as Market Bowls, which features starting prices at $9.99.

The new bowl category provides three distinct combinations available in both full and half portions. The Sesame Ginger Chicken bowl pairs diced chicken with brown rice, arugula, edamame, and broccoli, while the Carnitas Elote bowl incorporates slow-roasted pulled pork, corn, feta, avocado, and pickled onions. A third option, the All-In Veggie bowl, combines the brown rice base with sweet potatoes, feta, grape tomatoes, and a smoky lemon vinaigrette.

The company has also revised its salad options by incorporating premium proteins such as steak and shrimp alongside new dressing selections and croissant croutons. The Ultimate Garden Steak salad features sliced steak, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and a garden herb dressing. For seafood options, the Shrimply Baja salad includes tender shrimp, feta, cabbage, avocado, and taco seasoning, while the vegetarian Farmhouse Crunch salad utilizes parmesan, pumpkin seeds, and a buttermilk-based farmhouse ranch dressing.

The cold beverage platform has expanded to include specialized iced coffees, blended frozen drinks, and fruit-flavored beverages. The corporate coffee lineup introduces both iced and frozen blended variations utilizing Arabica beans in snickerdoodle, hazelnut mocha, and rocky road flavors. Additionally, the chain has added a caffeinated Island Mango Energy Refresher and a caffeine-free, freshly brewed Blackberry Hibiscus Herbal Iced Tea to its drink rotation.

Morning menu options have also been updated with the introduction of portable, crustless breakfast frittatas baked daily in-house. The two egg-based varieties include a Broccoli Cheddar Frittata made with five types of cheese and grilled broccoli, and a Five Cheese and Bacon Frittata that incorporates applewood smoked bacon. According to chief executive officer Paul Carbone, the seasonal changes are intended to fulfill previous corporate commitments to update menu quality and consumer value.
