TNT will premiere its eight-episode limited series High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam on Sunday, September 13. The political thriller stars Joel Kinnaman as CIA analyst John Nixon and is inspired by Nixon’s memoir, “Debriefing the President.”
The broadcast begins with a two-night premiere featuring the first two episodes on September 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and the third episode on Monday, September 14. Subsequent episodes will air on Sunday and Monday evenings, leading to the finale on Sunday, October 4.
The narrative details the high-stakes interrogation between Nixon and former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, played by Waleed Zuaiter, following Hussein’s capture in December 2003. As Nixon searches for answers regarding weapons of mass destruction, the story addresses the broader consequences of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
“John Nixon found himself in a singular position at a pivotal moment in modern history – face-to-face with Saddam Hussein as the world sought answers about a war that would reshape the Middle East,” said Jason Sarlanis, President of Turner Networks. Sarlanis noted that Kinnaman brings the story to life on screen.
Co-written and directed by Leslie Greif, the series features an ensemble cast including Lena Góra, Rebecca Night, Tom Berenger, Paul Ryan, Christopher McDonald, Dar Salim, Matt Barr, Ewan Miller, and Talia Balsam. The show is produced by AR Content and Big Dreams Entertainment in association with TNT and Warner Bros. Discovery.
