A nationwide roadshow series featuring more than 40 single-night screenings of “Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul” will launch this fall across the United States. The tour begins on September 1 in Seattle before traveling to venues ranging from small recording studios to large theaters through December 8, 2027.
Directed by James Keach, the documentary examines the life of the late Allman Brothers Band co-founder and singer. The film covers Allman’s childhood, his career in Southern rock, his struggles with addiction, and the death of his brother Duane Allman.
The production incorporates archival footage, candid interviews, and historic concert performances of the Allman Brothers Band. The narrative also focuses on the band’s integration of Black musical influences and their stance against regional racial divisions during their formative years.
Organizers designed the roadshow to screen the film in performing arts centers, rock clubs, and theaters equipped with high-fidelity audio systems. Select tour stops will feature post-screening discussions with director James Keach or lead producer Michael Lehman.
A portion of ticket sales will be donated directly to music-related causes throughout the tour. For every admission sold, two dollars will support the Gregg Allman Scholarship Funds or local non-profit organizations that support live music.
