A new film adaptation of author Karen Kingsbury’s book The Christmas Ring will premiere on Great American Media platforms this holiday season. The movie will stream first on Great American Pure Flix on Thursday, Nov. 5, followed by a broadcast on Great American Family and GFAM+ on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Directed by Tyler Russell and executive produced by Kingsbury, the production stars Jana Kramer, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Ashley Brown, and Jessie James Decker. The screenplay was co-written by Kingsbury and Russell based on the 2025 novel published by Thomas Nelson.
The storyline follows Vanessa Mayfield, played by Kramer, a military widow searching for a gold-and-ruby family heirloom lost generations after being found in Normandy on D-Day. Her effort leads her to widowed antiques dealer Benjamin Miller, played by Hollingsworth, whose father unknowingly acquires the missing ring.
As Mayfield prepares for an annual military Christmas dance and the return of her college-age daughter, Miller discovers the history of the piece his father plans to sell and attempts to recover it. The narrative focuses on themes of family, faith, and military heritage.
The production incorporated nearly 100 active and retired U.S. military members as background actors, including World War II veteran James Daniels. The project marks the latest screen adaptation for Kingsbury, whose original book has sold more than 100,000 copies.
