Rock band Shinedown has reached the top spot on the Mediabase Active Rock chart with their single “Young Again.” The milestone marks the band’s 26th number one on the format’s chart, extending their all-time record for the most chart-topping songs in its history.
The single is the latest release from the band’s current studio album, EI8HT, released through Atlantic Records. In addition to its Mediabase record, the group holds the record for the most number ones on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with 23.
The track “Young Again” was accompanied by a music video directed by Andrew Donoho. The single follows the band’s previous release, “Safe and Sound,” which also reached number one on both the Mediabase Active Rock and Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay charts.
The album EI8HT was produced by bassist Eric Bass at Big Animal Studio in Charleston. Along with “Young Again,” the record features the tracks “Three Six Five,” “Dance, Kid, Dance,” “Killing Fields,” and “Searchlight.”
Shinedown is currently on the road for the Dance, Kid, Dance Act II World Tour. The band will perform co-headlining dates in Australia and New Zealand with Bush this September, marking their first shows in the region in more than 15 years.
Following the Australian and New Zealand dates, the tour moves to Europe and the United Kingdom through October and November. The UK leg of the tour will feature support from Coheed and Cambria alongside Those Damn Crows.
