Brent Smith and Zach Myers of the multiplatinum rock group Shinedown are returning to the road as acoustic duo Smith and Myers. The pair announced an 11-city North American tour scheduled for this December.
The run begins December 1 in St. Augustine, Florida, and concludes December 18 in Nashville, Tennessee. Tickets for the tour go on sale September 18 at 10:00 a.m. local time, following artist and venue presales earlier in the week.
The upcoming dates mark the duo’s first extensive tour together since releasing their double album Smith & Myers Volume 1 and Smith & Myers Volume 2. The project initially launched in 2014 with two acoustic cover releases, Acoustic Sessions, Part 1 and Acoustic Sessions, Part 2.
Produced by Dave Bassett, their double album features their first original material recorded as a duo. Live performances focus on a minimalist setup featuring microphone and acoustic accompaniment.
The tour announcement coincides with ongoing activity for Shinedown following the release of their album EI8HT. The band is currently touring internationally on the Dance, Kid, Dance Act II World Tour, covering dates across 11 countries.
Shinedown’s catalog includes 15 platinum and gold singles, 10 million album sales globally, and more than 8.3 billion streams. The group holds record totals for most number-one songs on both Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart and the Mediabase Active Rock Chart.
