Rising pop artist MARIS released her new single “Missing Me” on Friday, a high-energy anthem co-written and produced by Grammy Award winner Jeremy Hatcher.

The track serves as the centerpiece for the artist’s upcoming 17-date “MARIS Goes To College” tour, which kicks off April 8 in Athens, Georgia. The release follows the momentum of her previous single, “Body Is On Fire,” which surpassed 1 million streams and earned placement on major editorial playlists, including Spotify’s “New Music Friday.”

“Missing Me” explores the vulnerability of longing and the uncertainty of whether a former partner feels the same. An official music video for the track, co-directed by MARIS and IndieX Film Fest nominee Grace Stromatt, is scheduled to premiere April 15.

The Montana-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter has drawn comparisons to Lady Gaga and Freddie Mercury from Elton John, who featured her music on his “Rocket Hour” radio show. MARIS has previously shared stages with major acts including Ed Sheeran, Chappell Roan, and Reneé Rapp.

Known for a “glam-pop” sound that blends heartland rock with arena-sized choruses, MARIS has earned critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and PAPER Magazine, the latter of which described her current work as “bolder, sharper, and still dancing around the edge of impulse.”

Tickets for the upcoming tour are available now through the artist’s official website.
