Collective Soul to release New Wave-inspired album ‘Touch and Go’ for Record Store Day
Multi-platinum rock band Collective Soul will release a new full-length studio album, Touch and Go, as an exclusive offering for Record Store Day on Saturday, April 18.
The 10-track album will be available only at independent record stores. According to the band, the project marks a stylistic departure, drawing heavy inspiration from The Cars and the New Wave movement of the late 1970s and 80s.
“We’re excited for everyone to hear our new album,” frontman Ed Roland said in a statement. “It has a New Wave sound. You can get it on Record Store Day, and we appreciate your love and support.”
The physical release will be pressed on 180-gram colored vinyl and includes a 12-by-24-inch poster. Participating retailers can be found through the official Record Store Day website.
The announcement follows the 2025 release of the band’s definitive documentary, Give Me A Word: The Collective Soul Story. The film, which is currently available on various video-on-demand platforms, chronicles the group’s history and was filmed at Elvis Presley’s former estate in Palm Springs, California—making Collective Soul the only artist other than Presley to record at the landmark.
The band, which has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and boasts seven No. 1 singles including “Shine” and “December,” recently concluded a residency at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas.
Collective Soul is scheduled to headline a series of U.S. shows this spring and will appear on the “Summer of ’99 and Beyond Cruise” in late April. Ticket information and the full Touch and Go track listing are available on the band’s official website.
