The psychedelic rock group Pond is releasing their 11th studio album, titled Terrestrials, through their independent imprint Mangovision and Secretly Distribution. The album release is accompanied by a North American summer concert tour that features headline performances as well as dates supporting the artist Djo. The tour itinerary includes a scheduled performance at Forest Hills Stadium in New York.
A music video has been distributed for the album focus track called Skyworks. The song lyrics examine the historical context of Australia Day, contrasting modern community celebrations with the colonial history of the continent. Band member Nick Allbrook noted that the track was built around a chord progression written by guitarist Joe Ryan to describe the annual holiday fireworks displays over the river.
The recording sessions for the new album marked a change in methodology for the five-piece group, which consists of Nick Allbrook, Jay Watson, Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry, and James Ireland. The musicians implemented a strict set of rules for the production, explicitly banning the use of fuzz pedals, traditional ballads, or production styles reminiscent of Pink Floyd. The musical arrangements draw inspiration from 1980s Australian rock and post-punk bands such as Magazine and Sisters of Mercy.

The thematic elements across the new album explore environmental conditions, regional identity, economic inequality, and indigenous incarceration rates. The group formed in 2010 in Fremantle, Western Australia, and transitioned into an international touring act following their 2013 record Beard, Wives, Denim. Their historical live performance background includes appearances at major global festivals including Glastonbury and Coachella.
Concert tickets for the upcoming summer tour dates are currently available for purchase through the band’s official website. Specialized physical media formats, including a 180-gram colored vinyl edition and standard compact discs, are scheduled for retail distribution on June 26. The new record adds to an established catalog that currently spans 10 previously published studio albums.
