Paper Mill Playhouse announces cast and creative team for ‘West Side Story’

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the full cast and creative team for its upcoming production of West Side Story, the final show of the theater’s 2025-2026 season. Performances are scheduled to begin Thursday, May 28, with an official opening night set for Sunday, May 31.
The production, directed by Paper Mill Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee, features Noah Henry as Tony and Sarah-Anne Martinez as Maria. They are joined by Mikaela Secada as Anita, Antony Sanchez as Bernardo, and Sean Harrison Jones as Riff. The cast also includes several stage veterans, such as Stuart Zagnit in the role of Doc and Adam Monley as Schrank.
Based on a conception by Jerome Robbins, the musical reimagines Romeo and Juliet in 1950s New York City. The classic features a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. This production will utilize Robbins’ original choreography, overseen by choreographer Alex Sánchez, and will feature a 19-piece orchestra under the musical direction of Ben McNaboe.
The creative team includes scenic coordination by Kelly James Tighe, costume design by Antonio Consuegra, and lighting design by Charlie Morrison. The run is scheduled to continue through Sunday, June 28, and will include specialized programming such as a cast Q&A on June 13 and an autism-friendly performance on June 26.
